Disney's 'Frozen' Film Review

After initially putting it off for fear of it not living up to the 'Tangled' effect, the critical acclaim (Academy Award nominated for Best Animated feature and Best Original Song) and constant praise from friends who have seen it led me to finally give it a go three months after its original premiere in November (the long run is another indication of its awesomeness).

Elsa was born with magical ice powers, but when she freezes her beloved sister Anna by accident whilst playing, she vows to keep her powers a secret forever. On the day of her coronation, Elsa's secret is exposed and she flees Erindale, leaving it in eternal Winter.

Desperate to find her sister and restore Summer to Erindale, Anna embarks on a frosty journey, along with Kristoff and his reindeer Sven, as well as a talking snowman Olaf, encountering trolls and an ice giant. Will Anna be able to convince her sister to return?

Copenhagen Trip 2014

So I just got back from my unit trip to Copenhagen and wow it was a good trip! It was mostly pretty chilled, checked out architecture stuff in the day and generally relaxed at night~ took a dodgy walk through Christiana with the unit on night 1- what a surreal place!

Day 2 saw us cycling around Copenhagen which was an amazing experience! You get to see the city and experience it in a completely different way. Dinner at Madklubben, Jazz at the Montmartre and drinks at 1105 finished the night.

We went to the Louisiana Museum of Art and the Naval Museum area to the North before returning in the mid afternoon for some tourist things~ boating to the Mermaid statue and then returning to Torvehallerne, but a bit late- only got to try some tapas bread things- which was nice :) Saw ballet at Kongelige Teater, the finale was amazing.

Final day walking around Kastrup, see the Aquarium and the Strandpark area, before looking at shops in Stroget and eating lots of pastries and seeing sunset at the Rundtarn.

Check out all my photos of Copenhagen HERE and a few personal snaps below:

Copenhagen Photography

I have quite a huge selection of interesting photos from this trip, but here is just a selection. I found Copenhagen to be an interesting place, mostly due to its diversity in style, not totally Scandinavian, not totally Central European, but a bit of a collision between the two.

Architecturally, there's definitely a lot of new and contemporary intentions, large scale developments and very form-intensive structures. Makes for some great photography, but do they all work well??

I thought there were some nice gems in the city, small details, colours and just bits here and there that gave the city more character and life, which I really enjoyed photographing.

Check out the best shots below and after the jump:

Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue 2014

As the Academy Awards are looming (just one more month to go!), Vanity Fair's Hollywood issue features some of the veterans and rising stars in the film industry. Shot by Annie Leibovitz, the cover features Julia Roberts, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong'o, Idris Elba, George Clooney, Michael B Jordan, Naomie Harris, Brie Larson, Chadwick Boseman, Margot Robbie and Lea Seydoux.

Most of these stars are Oscar nominees or represent Oscar nominated movies. The battle between Gravity, American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave is ON!
