'Godzilla' Film Review

Godzilla returns in this year's reboot of the franchise, the last of which was in 1998. Making use of recent technology, the movie is no doubt the most visually breathtaking rendition of the legendary monster.

Joe Brody (Bryan Cranston), who lost his wife in a nuclear plant explosion 15 years ago believes the government is hiding something and is obsessed with finding the truth. When he is caught trespassing in the radiation zone, his son Ford (Aaron Taylor Johnson) comes to take him home.

Desperate to prove his theory, the two sneak back into their old home one last time for some of Joe's old tapes, but is caught and is taken to the site of the old plant. There, a MUTO (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism) is awakened and starts causing havoc across the world.

Godzilla resurfaces from the ocean depths and it too begins a trail of destruction. Despite Dr Serizawa (Ken Watanabe)'s pleas of patience, the United States Army prepares its protocol for defense, which threatens the whole population of the West coast.

'Edge of Tomorrow' Film Review

Officer William Cage (Tom Cruise) is reluctantly enforced to enter combat against an ongoing alien invasion, called Mimics. When he haphazardly kills an alpha mimic, he wakes up the previous morning at the military base, handcuffed.

Cage discovers that every time he dies, he wakes up to relive the day again and again. One time, when he saves veteran Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), she tells him to 'find her' when he wakes up. Manipulating the time loop he's stuck in, Rita trains Cage and together, they strive to defeat the enemy.

'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Film Review

As one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2014, the sequel to X-Men: First Class sees characters from past and future unite in one huge movie.

In the future, Sentinel robots were created to destroy all mutants including humans with mutant genes, exacerbating the war between Humans and mutants. With the help of Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page), Logan (Hugh Jackman) is sent back to 1973 to correct the past.

Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) is on the hunt of Dr Trask (Peter Dinklage) who has been testing on mutants for his Sentinel program. Determined to kill him, but unaware that the consequences of doing so leads to her capture and the spawn of advanced adaptive sentinel robots, Mystique ignores Xavier (James McAvoy)'s pleas and Magneto (Michael Fassbender)'s attack.

With Sentinels closing in on future Logan and Kitty, time is quickly running out. Will Logan be able to change the past in time to correct the future?

'The Giver' Film Trailer Preview

Based on Lois Lowry's novel of the same name, 'The Giver' tells of a young boy Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) who lives in a seemingly perfect community, but learns the truth about the real world.

The trailer which starts in black and white and gradually turning to colour is an interesting choice of cinematography. Thematically similar to 'Equilibrium' and aspects of 'Pleasantville' and potentially even 'Truman Show', there is definitely a lot to be liked. Also starring Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes and Taylor Swift.

The film will be released in August. Check out the trailer below:
