The Sims 3: Seasons Expansion Pack Games Preview

Now I've been a Sims fan for a long time and whilst my craze died down after The Sims 2 Apartment Life and The Sims 3 expansion packs kept me unsatisfied and wanting more, I've just never felt the same way about the franchise... especially those nasty in-game social networking add ons and the lack of content, forcing you to buy them on the store instead.

But news recently broke that the 8th expansion pack (yes, 8th ALREADY) for The Sims 3 would be 'Seasons', in which if it was anything like The Sims 2, would kill all other expansion packs. With 'Supernatural' still to be released in September, I wonder if this news will affect it in any way given Seasons will come out less than 3 months after that.

Who cares when you can finally immerse your Sims in the Sun and Rain?

The fact that Sims carry umbrellas (do they use them automatically when it's raining?) and the subtle changes of the weather affecting their behavior is the best thing about the expansion pack as it integrates the new features into the everyday lives of your Sims, not forcing your Sims to do what the expansion pack offers (like Adventures where it really warps your Sims' priorities).

The only gripe I have with the expansion pack is that it seems to be festivities focused, with a heavy emphasis on carving pumpkins, [trick or treating], face-painting (seriously, noone ever uses that feature), fireworks and more.

To me, this feels like a mad mix of Seasons, Free-Time and that dodgy little Festivities stuff pack that came out early Sims 2. And they even threw in 'Aliens' as the special creature- maybe they couldn't fit it into Supernatural or they just ran out of fresh ideas and didn't want to remake those plant Sims.

'Seasons' comes out this November, just in time for Christmas. Check out the trailer below:
