Marine Research Centre by Solus4

This has been designed by Solus4 as part of a competition for an off-shore marine research centre in Indonesia. Featuring stunning curved shapes, this white fluid structure is inspired by the shape of a tsunami; the last disaster affected South East Asia in 2005.

The marine centre will have areas above and below water, comprising of specialised labs, scientists' bedrooms and aquatic garden. As well as being a marine centre, it will have parts open to the public such as the salt water pool, pool terrace, a bar and an auditorium.

I love the continuation of the fluid shape that translates into the interiors, making great use of the space, and the natural water features of the sea will greatly improve aesthetic. This is an exciting project that explores the use of space underwater and I hope it wins!
